Enbridge Shelves Sandpiper Project

Enbridge Energy Partners has withdrawn its application for a permit to build the Sandpiper Pipeline that would have carried fracked oil from the Bakken in North Dakota to Wisconsin. The pipeline faced stiff opposition from NGOs and Native American Tribes in the Midwest. Enbridge attributed its decision to lower oil prices and sufficient pipeline capacity. The battle now turns to its other proposed pipeline-The Dakota Access Pipeline-which Native American Tribes have united against. Check out the WSJ article by Maria Armental here.
